FAQ
Prepping for the Work
To ensure a smooth start, please make the designated work area as accessible as possible. If there are any access limitations or obstacles, kindly inform us in advance so we can plan accordingly. We also recommend relocating any valuable items that may be in the way of the excavation process.
What to Expect
Excavation involves the removal and relocation of soil, rock, or other materials using specialized machinery to prepare your site for construction. This process may include trenching, land clearing, grading, and preparing the site for foundations, septic systems, sewer lines, erosion control, and more. It’s a vital first step in any construction project.
Equipment in Action
We use a variety of heavy equipment tailored to your project’s specific needs. Our primary machine is the excavator—ideal for digging, demolition, and material handling. Depending on the scope of work, we may also utilize dump trucks, bulldozers, backhoes, graders, rollers, scrapers, and loaders.
Debris Removal
Clean-up is included in our services. Debris removal is handled according to your preferences—we can haul it off-site, stockpile it on the property, or burn it (where permitted). Let us know what works best for you.
Permits: Do You Need One?
Possibly. To ensure full compliance, we recommend reaching out to us directly. Colt will personally assess your site and determine if a permit is required. If so, we’ll assist with all necessary documentation to ensure your project meets city, county, and state regulations in Minnesota.
